Reflection: During the video making process I focused on the story/documentary on one of my good friend Avery Gardener and her skills at Jewelry making. During a good portion of filming, most of the lighting was warm tinted with white light accents. It’s not my lighting of choice but was one I had to work with, and so I decided to move forward with a cozier and more relaxing atmosphere for the remainder of the film, especially with parts that I had more control of the lighting. I fear that one thing I lacked was camera quality, specifically because I felt that my hands were shaky in most of the shots I took. I wanted to make shots smoother for transitions, but I feel like some blurred without intention. Another thing that was more of a thing I needed to practice and work on was trying to get as much background noise out as much as possible. While filming I was using my friend’s professional camera, that also had a video feature, so I was very much experimenting with a new camera, program, and editing. Although I believe I could’ve cleaned things up more if I had retaken some shots or rewritten my story board I’m satisfied with my outcome. My favorite part of the whole video recording was adding my friends cat at the end for the credits, it felt like a fun personal touch to conclude a fun film.
